Company: MISSION in Portsmouth
- this company serves fitness enthusiasts who desire a place to go where there is a community of instructors and learners. It accepts clients of all interests and levels of fitness.
- the company does not have any official partners. I could very easily see this company teaming up with any other sort of fitness based organization that has common interests.
- I admire their ability to cultivate an environment that focuses on physical activity. I would be extremely interested in working in such an environment.
- I have always had a passion for physical fitness and activity. I also have always enjoyed engaging others in that interest. This is basically the platform for this organization. They have instructors who have the knowledge, and clients who have the interest.
- I think my positive attitude and hard working personality are perfect for this company. I don’t mind helping people who are struggling with something, and also love to challenge others and be challenged myself. I could see this type of hands-on active work as being a very good fit for me.
Blog Two: I chose to use the Plumi manual
- The audience of the manual is somebody who wants to use the video publishing software. The wording of the manual implies that the audience is unfamiliar with the software.
- The purpose of the document is to guide a reader through the content creation and publication of a video.
- The manual is divided into different chapters based on the readers goal. There are sections for publishing different types of media, watching videos, and sharing media on different platforms.
- The manual has an introduction, table of contents, a user guide, many body sections, and an appendix. There are not any additional features.
- The manual has the main idea of each step in bold to emphasize what the goal is of each step. I found this effective while reading through the instructions. “If the Copyright Holder (creator) is not you, enter their name instead of “(site default)”.
- The author will put screenshots of what the screen is showing next to certain steps. This is important to help people who may not be as familiar with computer programs.
- I would use larger font and more spacing. The content is very straight forward and effective, but it is dense language and takes some reading to understand for an unexperienced audience. The tightly packed paragraphs do not make it any easier to read.

After the first week of peer review for unit one I was able to asses where I stand with my work. Due to the nature of this project, I am very familiar with the concepts I am instruction and the audience is not. This means that there have certainly been parts that I have overlooked. Having a peer review my work gave an outside perspective on what might need some work. One area that was suggested to work on was the background information for why you should learn this skill. It was not something I had thought about because I can think of many reasons why you should learn it. Having a peer suggest it reminded me that the audience is not going to have those same ideas since they are unfamiliar with the process and applications. Moving forward I plan to add pictures of what the computer program will look like at each step. I have realized that there are a lot of steps where symbols are used in the computer program and a reader would find it difficult to navigate. I am happy with the actual steps I have. I created them by actually developing a finalized piece and made notes on each step along the way. I think it will be beneficial to use my own instructions to recreate the piece step by step, like our practice in class with instruction writing. The idea of writing steps “idiot proof” was fun in class, and was very helpful to understand how I should be writing my more professional instructions.

To whom it may concern,
I am contacting you to help spread our message for onsite work safety, specifically, regarding hardhat enforcement. We believe our message should be heard by as large an audience as possible and are working passionately to make this happen. Our PSA would be in the form of an audio script that would be broadcasted through your network. We believe that the broad audience that NHPR garners is a great way for us to get our message out there.
The hardhat is one of the most well known pieces of personal protective equipment found in the modern worksite. As we learn more about traumatic brain injury it is as important as ever to encourage the use of these devices. There have been great improvements in workplace safety, primarily through OSHA standards. We believe there is still work to be done and will fight to make these changes happen.
We look forward to hearing back from you,
J. J. E. Incorporated

I used Canva. I wanted to create a presentation that relied on visuals and minimal writing. One issue I had while creating my demo presentation was deciding how much detail I would need to include. Even though this was for practice and was very basic, I still was focused on the intended audience. The Canva platform makes it very easy to organize the presentation. They have a lot of formatting options that are very easy to implement. They also have visuals and image files already in the program, so there is no issue with figuring out how to upload image files. I have used Canva in the past and am fairly comfortable with the platform. Depending on what the presentation needs to be I could see myself using it again in the future.

The main concerns we were discussing in previous workshops were the medium we wanted to communicate our PSA in. A main concern is planning all of our work and collaboration for online work, since we will be unable to work together in person. We are looking to present our PSA in an audio format which we believe will allow us to all have input. So far we are happy with the visuals we have created so far. We have designed both a team logo and a piece of merchandise related to our PSA. I think we are all satisfied with the level of work we have so far. We are happy with the timeline we have set for ourselves. Our future plans include more visuals to go along with our audio. We plan to include these over the course of the next two drafts. It is also important for us as a group to stay up to date with the latest covid-19 information coming out in the news as we work on our project. The direction we see this project going is towards the final draft of our project.
